Former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan said on Wednesday that his batting performance in the first two Tests of the ongoing Ashes series has disappointed skipper Joe Root. He further added that the team is struggling to perform well. After losing the first two Tests in Brisbane and Adelaide by nine wickets and then by 275 runs, England are in danger of losing the Ashes ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia.

Vaughan wrote in the Telegraph, “The batsmen in the Ashes series have let down Captain Joe Root. He is changing every Test match because he doesn’t know which batsman will do better. I can tell by looking at it that one Players need to perform to be a good Test team.”

Vaughan further mentioned that Australia’s stellar performance has made England think about the team. Vaughan has described the selection of the England team in the first and second Tests as poor.

He said, “The selection was poor for the Brisbane and Adelaide Tests, in the second Test when they knew that the spinners were going to be helped, they did not choose the spinner.
