New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met chief executive officers (CEOs) of top companies from various sectors and sought their suggestions regarding the next year’s budget. The Prime Minister discussed economic activities with CEOs of major companies related to banks, infrastructure sector, vehicles, telecommunications, consumer products, textiles, renewable energy, hotels, health care, electronics and space sectors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacts with India Inc’s key CEOs on various sectors and receives inputs for Budget 2022. In the meeting, discussions were held to provide a better environment for the industry in the country. Along with this, how to rejuvenate the Indian economy after the corona epidemic was also discussed.

Official sources said the Prime Minister’s meeting with CEOs of companies is a part of pre-budget preparations. The Prime Minister has continuously talked to the representatives of the companies to get suggestions from the private sector regarding the budget. The Prime Minister also held a meeting with equity and venture capital investors last week to discuss how to make India more attractive for investment.

The PM told the CEO in the meeting that the government will give such an environment in the country that companies can give better and Indian companies should also reach out to the top-5 companies of the world. This talk of PM is an initiative to know the experiences and wishes of the corporates before the budget.

Rajesh Gopinathan, CEO and MD, Tata Consultancy Services, said that his (PM) focus is on research, innovation. He believes in the potential that India has to move forward. He had a very clear vision that we should be in the top 5 in every industry, in every field, if possible at number 1. He said that such talks from the top leadership would encourage the country to move on from the present success.

Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO of the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), said that PM Modi has a grand vision, any investor can invest here.

Let us tell you that the General Budget for the financial year 2022-23 will be presented in the Parliament on February 1, 2022. Since coming to power in the year 2014, the Modi government has implemented many economic reforms. At present, its emphasis is on promoting manufacturing. (input language)
