Director Karthik Subbaraj disclosure after the release of ‘Jagame Thandhiram’, said this thing: Eminent writer-director Karthik Subbaraj said that he aims to reach Indian and international audiences through gangster based film ‘Jagme Thandhiram’. Tamil film actor Dhanush and ‘Game of Thrones’ actor James Kasmo are acting in this film.

Subbarao is known for his crime and action-packed films like ‘Jigartanda’, ‘Iraivi’ and ‘Petta’. Subbaraj told PTI-Bhasha in a Zoom interview, “I think I should make a film with a gangster face popular in New York that also has a Tamil character from Madurai, it should be a global story. The initial idea was to make an international film that brought the two worlds together. The aim was to create a film that would entertain both Indian and international audiences.” and is believed to be the best film on the mafia ever made.

“This whole gangster scene is completely different, they call it family, it’s cosa nostra (our stuff in Italian). There’s an Italian mafia family, an Irish mafia family. I am from Madurai and I tried to know the world through ‘Jigartanda’ and I wanted to merge both the worlds.” Subbaraj also said that migration is also a part of the story. He said that the story may be based in the world of crime but he never tries to glorify bad characters in his films. It is worth noting that the producer of this film is Wynot Studios and Reliance Entertainment. The film also stars Joju George, Aishwarya Lakshmi and Kalairasan. (language)
