Exports grew 43 percent in October to $ 35.65 billion, trade deficit also increased

New Delhi: The country’s exports grew 43 percent to $35.65 billion in October. This information has been received from official figures released on Monday. According to the data, the trade deficit also widened to $19.73 billion in October. The difference between exports and imports is called trade deficit. Imports rose 62.51 per cent to $55.37 billion in the month under review.

Exports of petroleum, coffee, engineering goods, cotton yarn, gems and jewellery, chemicals, plastics and marine products increased in October. In the first seven months of the current financial year, April-October, the country’s exports grew by 55.13 percent to $ 233.54 billion as compared to the same period last fiscal. Imports also increased by 78.16 per cent to $331.39 billion during this period.
