Japanese automaker Honda is working on a new mid-size SUV for the Indian market, whose test photos are doing the rounds on the internet, positioning the new sedan between the company’s HR-V and CR-V. can be slotted. It is believed that this new model will be based on the new Civic platform. Which will compete with the Toyota Corolla Cross when launched in India. In the pictures that have surfaced so far, the test mule model is completely covered, and it gets a long-body design.

No other information has been revealed about the design of the car, but according to media reports, a large grille, a protuberant air dam, lean LED headlamps equipped with projector technology will be given in the front of this car. Other features include ORVMs with integrated turn signals, shark fin antenna and blacked-out alloy wheels. At the rear, a roof spoiler can be seen with lean LED tail lamps, spoiler-mounted brake lights.

Talking about the interior, the pictures of the cabin have not been released yet, but this car could share the interior with the new Civic with the new-gen HR-V. The SUV could get a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument console, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery and a multi-functional steering wheel.

Engine options and gearbox

If reports are to be believed, the new Honda SUV will also share engine specifications with the Civic sedan. The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will be used in this car. Which generates power of 182bhp at 6,000rpm and 240Nm of torque at 1,700rpm. Along with this, the car may also get a hybrid system, with a CVT automatic gearbox being offered as standard.
