New Delhi. Giving information on Thursday, German luxury car maker BMW said that the company is ready to enter the Indian electric vehicle segment. For this, the company will launch 3 electric vehicles in India in the next 6 months with its all-electric technology. Under this plan, the company will launch its flagship all-electric SUV BMW iX in India in the next one month. Shortly after this, the company will launch its all-electric mini luxury hatchback. And lastly, the company’s all-electric sedan BMW i4 will be launched. This has also been confirmed by Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India.

Vikram Pawah said that BMW has already forayed into the electric vehicle segment, which has also yielded good results. The company’s growth in the first ten months has been strong. In such a situation, the company’s objective is pure electric mobility, which will further strengthen the electric vehicle segment.

Green Electricity

Vikram Pawah said that the BMW electric car will use natural or recycled materials and will be produced with 100% green electricity in mind.

BMW’s promise to India

Talking about the reasons behind bringing electric vehicles to India, Vikram said that BMW has promised that all the company’s products available globally, especially in the electric segment, will be brought to India. The company believes that premium and innovative products will be made available exclusively to the customers in India. To give a comfortable experience to the Indian customers, BMW India will come with each car with a home charging kit that can be installed at home or office. It will be an 11 kW AC charger that will provide 100% charging in around 7 hours and an extra driving range of 100 kms in 2.5 hours.
In addition, the company will also install fast chargers at all touch points across its dealer network in 35 cities in India. All the dealerships will be equipped with 50 kW DC fast charger and will also be available to the customers.
