New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson, who is gearing up to play his third Test on foreign soil, is well aware that the challenge of playing Test cricket in India will be quite different from that of playing at home. The first Test match between India and New Zealand will start here from Thursday.

Jamieson made a stellar start to Test cricket and has 46 wickets to his name in just eight Test matches. He is on the Indian tour for the first time with the national team. “I haven’t played a lot of cricket here,” Jamieson told Stuff.CO.NZ. I participated in the first leg of IPL (Indian Premier League) which was good, but it will be completely different.

“Wags (Neil Wagner) and Timmy (Tim Southee) are here with me so it would be good to know their opinion, it would be good to know their experience of bowling here,” he said.

“It’s definitely going to be a completely different challenge than at home, but I’m really looking forward to it,” Jamieson said.

Jamieson was instrumental in winning three Test matches against India, including the final of the World Test Championship. In the presence of Southee and Wagner, however, they are unlikely to find a place in the playing XI in the first Test against India.
