Shardul Thakur, who created history by taking 7 wickets in an innings of the second Test against South Africa, is garnering praise on social media. Thakur has become the first overseas player to take 7 wickets in an innings on South African soil. Due to this excellent bowling of Thakur, the hosts were bundled out for 229 runs in the first innings. This bowling of Mumbai is being praised by the entire sports world including Sachin Tendulkar on social media.

Praising Shardul Thakur, Sachin wrote, “Congratulations Shardul Thakur for taking 7 wickets with his steady bowling and variety. Other bowlers gave him good support.”

Not only this, this is the joint second best fast bowling performance in South Africa by a visiting bowler in the last 100 years. Earlier, England’s Andrew Caddick took 7 for 46 while playing in Durban in December 1999.

This is also the best performance of Shardul Thakur by Indian bowlers in South Africa.
