In the Thomas Cup badminton competition, India created history by winning the title for the first time and won the gold medal. The Indian team registered a resounding 3-0 win against Indonesia in the final of the Thomas Cup. In the first match against Indonesia, Lakshya Sen defeated Anthony Sinisuka 8-21, 21-17 and 21-16 for India.

Apart from this, in the doubles of the second match, the pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won 18-21, 23-21, 21-19. The last and third singles were in which India’s Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonathan Christie 21-15, 23-21.
