Maruti Suzuki sales declined by 24 percent to 138335 units in October

New Delhi: Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said its sales declined by 24 per cent to 1,38,335 units in October 2021. MSI said in a statement that it had sold 1,82,448 units in October last year. The company said that its domestic sales declined by 32 percent to 1,17,013 units last month as against 1,72,862 units in October 2020.

Maruti Suzuki said, “While manufacturing of vehicles was affected due to shortage of electronic components during the month under review, the company took all possible measures to mitigate its impact.” Ashok Leyland, a flagship firm of Hinduja Group, said that Total commercial vehicle sales in October rose 11 per cent to 11,079 units. Ashok Leyland told the stock exchange that the company had sold a total of 9,989 units in the same month last year. The company said that its total domestic sales grew by 13 per cent to 10,043 units.
