State government’s plan to increase exports from UP

New Delhi | The effect of the schemes made to promote exports in UP is now visible. Due to the incentive given by the state government to promote exports, in April and May this financial year, Rs 21,500 crore has been exported from the state, which is 152.67 percent more than the previous year. In order to maintain this increase in exports and to promote exports from UP, now the state government has decided to set up Overseas Trade Promotion and Facilitation Centers in every district. The MSME department has also prepared a plan to set up a centralized facilitation center for coordination among these centers to be set up in all the districts. The government expects that the export of these centers will increase by Rs 400 crore. At the same time, employment opportunities will be provided to about 4000 people.

According to officials related to exports, the demand for all the products made in UP is continuously increasing abroad. Due to this, 152.67 percent more exports have been done from Uttar Pradesh than last year. Due to this, the state ranks after Tamil Nadu and Gujarat in terms of export growth, while UP ranks sixth among the major exporting states of the country. Gujarat ranks first in terms of exports, while Maharashtra is second, Tamil Nadu third, Andhra Pradesh fourth, Karnataka fifth. This has been disclosed in the latest data released by the central government of exports from various states. According to the data of the central government, goods worth Rs 21,500.85 crore were exported from Uttar Pradesh in April-May this year. In April-May last year, goods worth Rs 8511.34 crore were exported. Goods like carpets, rugs, textile fabrics, footwear, glassware, iron, steel, aluminum, rice, plastic products, silk, artificial flowers were exported from abroad this year.

According to officials, there is an estimated increase of 250 crores in exports from 25 export-oriented districts of the state through Overseas Trade Promotion and Facilitation Centers. This will generate a large number of jobs directly and indirectly. Additional Chief Secretary said that the government is taking several steps to promote exports. To promote exports, the government is also giving many concessions to the entrepreneurs. So that all the products of the state can be easily sent abroad.
