Mumbai: R. Madhavan and Chetan Bhagat had a heated exchange of words on Twitter, with the actor taking a jibe at the writer. It all started with Netflix India on Monday asking people to choose between books and movies.

Bhagat replied by saying: “My books, and the films based on them.”

To this Madhavan replied, “Hi Chetan my bias is movies, books.”

Soon an interesting war broke out between the two on the micro-blogging website.

On Madhavan’s comment, Bhagat wrote, “Have you ever heard anyone say that the film is better than the book?

Madhavan replied, “Yes! 3 Idiots”, the 2009 blockbuster film based on Bhagat’s first best-seller titled ‘Five Point Someone’.

“Well, I prefer to be known as Chetan Bhagat than to be known as Farhan from that one film,” Bhagat said.

Madhavan said, “I am not just known as Farhan. I am also known as Manu from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Karthik from ‘Alaipayuthe’ and my favorite Maddy.”

The joke went on till the night, when Madhavan finally revealed that the exchanges were “scripted”.

Madhavan and Bhagat are currently seen in Netflix’s series ‘Dick Pulled’. It also stars Surveen Chawla.
