New Delhi: There is big news for those traveling in Indian Railways. The impact of this news will be on lakhs of people traveling in railways. Now the new year is about to come, so at this time more number of passengers travel in the train. In such a situation, while giving information for their convenience, the Railway Board said, “Railways have decided to resume catering services with cooked food in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat Tejas and Gatimaan trains.” There is also relief news for passengers traveling in air-conditioned coaches. They will soon be getting the facility of bedroll (sheets, blankets, towels and pillows etc.). The concerned officials have started preparing to resume the arrangement of bedrolls.

According to experts, the North Eastern Railway administration has asked the number of usable blankets, sheets, pillows and towels etc. from Lucknow, Varanasi and Izzatnagar divisions including headquarters Gorakhpur. So that, as soon as possible, arrangements for adequate bedroll can be ensured under the process of tender. Railway Board has directed to ensure arrangement of bedrolls from all zone headquarters including North Eastern Railway. At any time, a decree can be issued to provide bedroll to the passengers. In such a situation, the railway administration has intensified its preparation.

Railways to start 190 new trains

Apart from goods trains and passenger trains, Railways is launching a third section dedicated to the tourism sector under which it will run around 190 themed trains called ‘Bharat Gaurav Train’. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information recently. The Railway Minister had said that these trains can be operated by both the private sector and IRCTC.

He had said, “These are not regular trains which run according to the schedule. We have earmarked 3,033 rail coaches or 190 trains for these theme-based trains. After passenger and goods train section we are introducing tourism segment for Bharat Gaurav trains. These trains will show the culture and heritage of India. We have invited applications for them from today.

He had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took this idea and suggested themed trains so that the people of the country could understand the heritage of India and take it forward. According to Vaishnav, the fare of these trains will be practically fixed by the tour operators, but the railways will ensure that there are no discrepancies in the fare. He said that the governments of states like Odisha, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have shown interest in these trains.
