The budget of the film ‘Anand’ was very less. When Rajesh Khanna showed interest to work in the film, Hrishikesh Mukherjee put some conditions in front of him.

Hrishikesh Mukherjee said that he would be able to give only Rs 1 lakh to Rajesh Khanna as fees and he would have to come for the shoot on time. When the producer put the third condition that Kaka would have to give a lot of dates for the shoot of the film, Rajesh Khanna kept his diary in front of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and said that Dada fill in the date you want. I am completely ready for this. Rajesh Khanna accepted all these conditions of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and worked with all his heart in the film.
