Ramiz Raja made a big statement on hosting the Champions Trophy 2025

Karachi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Rameez Raja is extremely happy to host the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. With this tournament, the big global competition will return to the country after more than two decades. The good news comes less than two months after New Zealand and England canceled their tour of Pakistan due to security reasons.

Rameez thanked the ICC and said that the competition will showcase Pakistan’s passion for the game.

He said, “I am extremely happy that the ICC has chosen Pakistan as the host country of one of its elite tournaments. By allocating the major global tournament to Pakistan, the ICC has reposed full confidence in our management and handling ability and skills.

Pakistan, which co-hosted the 1996 World Cup with India and Sri Lanka, has not been able to organize many international matches in the country after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009.

The Champions Trophy was last held in the UK in 2017 when Pakistan won the title by defeating India in the final. This tournament will return to the ICC calendar after eight years.
