New Delhi: Ronit Roy has not been seen doing any TV show regularly for a long time. He worked in TV for a long time and after that, he proved his mettle with brilliant performances in many films including Two States, Kaabil. Apart from this, his work was also well liked in the web series Hostages. But for some time, he has been keeping a special distance from TV and the reason for this is that he does not want to feel dissatisfied as an artist.
He said, ‘Nothing is happening for me on the small screen. Before Kovid-19, I got some offers from the TV industry but nothing interesting. Sometime back I also did ‘Shakti – Astitva Ek Ehsaas Ki’. What was that role and where did it go? This is because the language of the serial is different. Far from satisfaction, you feel very dissatisfied after doing that work.
Describing this, he said that TV has its limitations. They have to work in the same space, due to which the same content comes and it repeats. Ronit Roy further said, ‘It becomes quite frustrating later on.’ Let us tell you that Ronit Roy has appeared in the role of Rishabh Bajaj in Kasauti Zindagi and Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Ronit Rai said, ‘I am talking about some TV project but the problem is that if I do not have excitement then I find it difficult to leave after home.’ He said that there should be a driving force in the role, because of which one feels like leaving home and going to work.
That’s why Ronit Roy explored the digital medium. He appeared in ‘Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai’, ‘Hostages’, ‘Saat Kadam’ and ‘Candy’ on the OTT platform. Ronit Roy says, ‘And there is always a hunger to do well. Well done and people liked it. This is the biggest thing for me. But I want to go further than that. I am greedy and hungry to do some good characters.
