Mumbai. The stock markets remained bullish for the fourth consecutive trading session and the BSE Sensex on Wednesday gained 367 points and reclaimed the level of 60,000 points. Bank and financial stocks firmed up on a positive trend in European markets. The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 367.22 points, or 0.61 per cent, to end at 60,223.15. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 17,925.25 with a gain of 120 points, or 0.67 percent.

Bajaj Finserv was the top gainer with Sensex shares rising over five per cent. Besides, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints and ICICI Bank were also gainers. On the other hand, losers include Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro and PowerGrid.

In other Asian markets, Shanghai Composite Index in China, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, South Korea’s Kospi ended in losses, while Japan’s Nikkei closed in gains. There was a sharp trend in the afternoon trading in the major markets of Europe. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude slipped 0.01 per cent to $79.99 a barrel.

According to stock market data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital market. He bought shares worth Rs 1,273.86 crore on Tuesday.
