T20 World Cup: Before the match between Pakistan-Afghanistan, there was a lot of ruckus outside the stadium, ICC will investigate

The International Cricket Council has directed the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to investigate the misbehavior of Afghan supporters outside the Dubai International Stadium without tickets during the T20 World Cup Super 12 stage match between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

16000 tickets were issued for this match between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Friday, but thousands of fans reached without tickets and tried to enter the stadium.

“Dubai Police and security staff deployed additional forces to disperse the crowd and control the situation,” the ICC said in a statement. At around 7 pm, Dubai Police had given instructions to close all the doors and not to allow anyone to enter so that the situation inside the stadium remains under control.

The ICC said that all measures will be taken to avoid repeat of such incident in future.

The ICC said, “The ICC, BCCI and ECB apologize to the fans who could not come in despite having tickets. They are requested to contact the ticket provider.
