South Korean automaker Hyundai made a lot of headlines with its first compact SUV Venue in the Indian market. As a result, the car has crossed the 2,50,000-unit sales mark in India today. The Venue was launched in the year 2019 with a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 11.85 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Let us tell you, the Venue crossed the 50,000 sales mark in just six months. However, due to the economic slowdown and the havoc of Kovid, it took fifteen months to touch the 1 lakh mark.
In the Indian market, the Venue competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonnet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

The company’s eye on electric vehicles
According to the information received, Hyundai is looking to expand its SUV range next year, while the company also plans to launch six new electric vehicles in India by 2028. The Hyundai Ioniq will be the first of the six EVs that the company is planning to launch in India. Let us tell you, in 2019, Huawei introduced the all-electric Kona. However, Kona could not find customers in India due to the high price.

The Ionia 5 will be powered by two battery options, 72.6 kWh and 58kWh battery. It will also feature 800V battery technology allowing fast charging, which will be able to charge the battery from 10 to 80% within 20 minutes.
